Station 24 was activated for a garage fire on the 500 block of Chestnut Street. Upon arrival, the crew on engine 24 observed heavy smoke and fire coming from the ally side of the structure. The first alarm assignment was put in. After interviewing the owner it was learned that the vehicle was parked in the garage at 8:05 am, after returning home from work. The driver noticed a smell of smoke, but did not investigate it. The fire alarm was transmitted at 8:20 am.
